Endowments

Giving to Central University Libraries

Endowments are gifts that enhance the CUL’s ability to fund acquisitions, technology, and staff development over time. Named endowments ensure that our collections, leadership staff, and initiatives have the ongoing support they need.

The Dean and Director of Central University Libraries is a visionary leader with diplomatic skills to position SMU at the forefront of scholarly information and research. This individual must relate to faculty and students while negotiating the rapidly changing needs of the academic infrastructure in the twenty-first century. Managing the operations of a staff of 100+, working closely with donors, and strategic planning for the future are integral elements of the Dean’s role. To ensure that Central University Libraries continues its legacy of strong leadership, the University seeks an endowment of $3 million.

This position oversees all operations in the DeGolyer Special Collections Library, while coordinating strategic planning in consultation with Central University Libraries.
