Early Registration Discount

SMU CPFP courses offer a discount for registration 14 or more days in advance. Register now, secure your seat, and save!

Pacesetter Path Discount

Complete the program in as little as one academic year and save up to $400 by taking two courses a quarter for three terms, and then complete the program with the final course by itself, the Capstone course in your fourth quarter. TSCPA and FPA Member Discounts

Members of the Texas Society of CPAs and the DFW Chapter of the Financial Planning Association are eligible to have the $50 application fee waived and may enroll at the TSCPA/FPA rate.

To obtain this discount, a one-time setup of your record is required, allowing you to receive your discount automatically whether you are registering by phone or online. To set up your record, please call 214-768-2737 or email us with your TSCPA or DFW FPA member number.

SMU Staff, Faculty, Student and Alumni Discount

Members of the SMU community, including current and retired staff and faculty, current students, and all alumni, are eligible for a discount on SMU Certificate Program in Financial Planning course fees.

Discount may not be combined with any other promotion. Discount is subtracted from the regular registration fee.

Get Started!

  • Choose a starting date. Students may join the SMU Program in April or September on the main campus in Dallas, or in January at SMU-in-Plano.
  • Choose a track. Students may elect to take one course per quarter, on the Traditional Path, or take 2 courses per quarter on the Pacesetter Path (at a discounted rate). Students in the SMU CPFP in Plano program move through the program one course at at time, at an accelerated pace; each of the seven courses in the program are taught in 6-week modules.   • Enroll in an Information Session. Offered throughout the year, these 1-hour sessions are packed with information about the SMU Program and the CFP® certification process. Register now.
  • Meet program instructors, view prerequisites and course fees.
  • Complete the program application. Click here to complete the SMU program application process.
  • Register for class. After the application has been approved, students may enroll online, by phone, or by fax. Traditional Path and Plano students begin the program with course 101; Pacesetter Path students begin with courses 101 and 103.
