SMU’s invitation-only summit brings together a unique interdisciplinary group of leaders to exchange knowledge and to discuss the hottest topics in the digital transformation world. Join professionals on the forefront of disruptive practice and research to explore ideas and initiatives to help you navigate the new digital age:

Faculty members from all seven SMU schools, as well as academic centers and institutes, will present innovative ideas from their research and practice. Attendees will learn about a wide variety of topics in engaging open sessions, with opportunities for discussion and interaction between speakers and attendees.

The day will begin with a keynote address from industry leader Ed Hess, award-winning author of Learn or Die and Humility is the New Smart, advisor to Fortune 500 companies, and expert on business innovation and growth.

Edward D. Hess

Industry leader, author and advisor to Fortune 500 companies

Ed Hess is an internationally-recognized expert on business growth and innovation as well as learning cultures, systems and processes. He is the award-winning author of 12 books, including Humility Is the New Smart: Rethinking Human Excellence In the Smart Machine Age; Learn or Die: Using Science to Build a Leading-Edge Learning Organization; and Smart Growth: Building Enduring Businesses by Managing the Risks of Growth. Hess has authored more than 100 articles, and his work has appeared in Fortune Magazine, Forbes.com, Washington Post, and Harvard Business Review, among many others. He is Professor of Business Administration and Batten Executive-in-Residence at the University of Virginia Darden School of Business, where his current research focuses on applying the science of learning in a business environment.
