SMU Safety Rules for Drone Operations

• Operator will abide by all SMU Policies and Procedures
• Operator will abide by all applicable local, state, and federal laws and meet all FAA requirements.
• All operations shall be conducted under 400ft.
• The drone shall be within line of sight of the operator.
• The drone will only be operated in daylight hours.
• The drone will not be flown in inclement weather.
• Operator will not interfere with manned aircraft operations.
• Operator will fly only in a sound mental state and not under the influence
• Operator will not fly directly over people.
• Operator will not fly directly over sporting events, Boulevard, or other mass assemblies.
• Operator will not fly in a careless or reckless manner.
• Operator will respect personal privacy at all times.
• Operator will not fly near emergency response activities.
