Project Management Essentials for the Unofficial Project Manager

We often face challenging business problems or situations for which there is no clear solution. Your work group is counting on you to "handle it". To do so may require you to think differently and approach the issue in a whole new way. You'll need to size up the situation, thoroughly assess the issues, develop clarifying questions, create a new solution, and execute successfully!

No matter what your job title or function is, you can influence the University's future. During this one day workshop, you'll learn practical skills to lead any group to greater success.

Today's knowledge worker has quietly slipped into the role of the unofficial project manager. Competing stakeholder needs, scope creep, no formal training, and a lack of process all combine to raise the probability of project failure, costing organizations time and money, and affecting employee morale.

Project management isn't just about managing logistics and hoping that the team is ready to play to win. The skills of informal authority are more important that ever before, so team members are inspired to contribute to the project's success.

Franklin Covey's new workshop will help participants:

  • consistently and successfully complete projects
  • learn how to implement a disciplined process to execute projects
  • understand how to master informal authority
