Mary Stall

Mary is a Senior HR Specialist - Organizational Effectiveness and draws on a diverse background in management, education, and sales and marketing, to provide training and development opportunities as well as group facilitation and internal consulting. She also works with employees to develop effective interpersonal skills, time, meeting, and project management skills and coaches employees on developmental and performance management topics. Mary often uses visual facilitation tools to support the process work of groups at SMU. One of these tools is graphic recording and facilitation, which incorporates the use of colors, words, and images in real time documentation of the process or discussion. Graphic recording and facilitation often increases engagement, creativity, productivity, and memory recall.

In the classroom, you may see Mary facilitating a wide variety of workshops including Project Management, Coaching - The Power of Questions, Crucial Conversations, Five Choices, Speed of Trust, Five Languages of Appreciation at Work, Seven Habits of Highly Effective People, Presentation Skills, Performance Management Goal Setting, Intro to HR, and Introduction to StrengthsQuest.

Rebecca Sampson

As an HR Senior Specialist:  Employee Relations, Rebecca provides coaching services for managers and employees, seeking to improve performance on the job. She serves as coordinator for the University's Threat Assessment Team and HR's Employee Relations Team. Rebecca also manages several programs designed to enhance work - life balance such as the Employee Assistance Program, Flextime/Telecommuting Program and other specialized programs. She actively promotes reward and recognition through the leadership and coordination of the Service Awards program as well as the Presidential Awards.

In the classroom, you may see Rebecca facilitating Managing and Coaching for High Performance, Employee Relations Essentials, Intro to HR and Performance Review Overviews.
