Know Your Heart! Avoid Serious Symptoms

As you may know, there are many heart conditions with virtually no symptoms. A person often does not know there's a problem until it becomes so severe he or she suffers a major cardiac event. There are screenings that find the problems early, but insurance companies often won't cover them until there are serious symptoms. For patients and physicians, it's a "catch-22.”  Dr. Michael Isaac will discuss which screenings healthy adults may want to consider requesting including screenings to measure electrical activity in the heart, calcified plaque in the coronary arteries, narrowing of arteries in the legs and ankles, thickening of the carotid artery, and the presence of an abdominal aortic aneurysm.

Attendees will be entered in a prize drawing for a 3-month Dedman Center membership.
