This handsome missal printed in red and black is an extremely rare book in complete condition, a testimony to the widespread and prolonged usage of such service books. As in many other early printed missals, the sections of plainchant were printed without notation. The original owner would have been responsible for ensuring that the notes were added in their proper places on the empty staves.
