Year I Joined the Office of Admission: 2020
Favorite Thing about SMU: My favorite thing about SMU is how the faculty, staff, and students make you feel at home. College can be a new and scary experience, but one thing that makes it an easier transition is to know that you’re surrounded by genuine people who care about you, your well-being, and success—which is something unique and special that we have and are proud of.
Favorite place on campus: Although it may sound cliché, my favorite place is the Boulevard! It truly comes to life during the fall and the tailgating prior to football games is truly a sight to see. The school spirit, tradition, and happiness it radiates makes SMU a very special place!
Favorite place in Dallas: The Katy Trail and it’s unique wooded feel throughout an urban landscape makes it a place a frequent often. Having originally been the path of the old Missouri-Kansas-Texas railroad, it is now a great place to either leisurely stroll with friends and view the sites or get a great outdoor jog or bike in.
Favorite restaurant near campus: Since I’m a big fan of sushi and Mexican food, my favorite restaurants are Oishii (which I hear might be opening up a new one close to campus) and Las Palmas, which is only 9 minutes from SMU!
What I recommend during your stay in Dallas: Being a transplant from Georgia, I enjoy things that remind me of home. For instance, Dallas has an amazing outdoor Farmer’s Market that I would recommend seeing. It sells everything from fresh vegetables and homemade candles to local desserts and vintage purses!
