Year I joined the Office of Admisson: 2014
Favorite thing about SMU: The students! One thing that all SMU students have in common is they are all well-rounded and involved. Everyone is passionate about their areas of studies, but they are also involved in things outside of the classroom too, which gives the University the perfect mix of work versus play.
Favorite place on campus: The Boulevard, no doubt! Whether it’s on a regular Tuesday walking to class or on a game day “boulevarding”, our version of tailgating, I love everything about it!
Favorite place in Dallas: The Park Cities, the wonderful area built around SMU which is just begging to be explored. It’s a great area for restaurants and shopping but also has plenty of parks and most everything is in walking distance. It makes Dallas feel a little less overwhelming, but you still have all of the “big city benefits” right in your backyard.
Favorite restaurant near campus: Too many to count, but if I had to pick a couple it would have to be Bandito’s for Tex Mex, Bubba’s for breakfast or fried chicken, or Dive for seafood, which all happen to be located in Snider Plaza.
What I recommend during your stay in Dallas: The Dallas Arboretum is a must see at all times of the year! My favorite is during the Fall when they have their Pumpkin Village with over 65,000 pumpkins, gourds, and squash. And food wise, for my family, no trip to Dallas would be complete without visiting a Texas steakhouse.
- Finding the right college for you is all about finding the right fit and not every college is the right fit for every student. It’s important to keep this in mind when building your list of schools you plan to apply to.
- Finish your college applications early so you can enjoy the rest of your senior year!
