FREDERIC M. McCOMAS PRESIDENT’S SCHOLARSHIP ENDOWMENT
The Frederic M. McComas President’s Scholarship Endowment was established in 1990 as a memorial from colleagues of Mr. McComas, who celebrated his 30th anniversary with Merrill Lynch shortly before his death in 1989. Before beginning his professional career at Merrill Lynch, Mr. McComas served in the intelligence branch of the Navy during the Korean War. He graduated from SMU in 1958 with a B.B.A. degree in marketing. As a student, he served as president of Alpha Tau Omega fraternity. His wife of 30 years, Mary, also graduated from SMU in 1957 with a B.A. degree. The couple’s three children continued the SMU legacy – Scot and Kelly graduated in 1990 and Andrew in 1994.
