Your HSP experience begins with your Discernment and Discourse classes, DISC 1312 and DISC 1313. All HSP DISC courses follow a common curriculum designed specifically for HSP students, to challenge you and interest you. You and your fellow Hilltop Scholars will read, write, and think about the same group of books, films, and articles, which leads to a deeper understanding and appreciation of academic life. If you place out of DISC 1312 with Advanced Placement credit, you may start in DISC 1313.
You will also take a common PRW, or Wellness, course, tailored for Hilltop Scholars and their particular academic and social needs.
The other course offerings vary from year to year, but generally include a language course, a science course or two, and a literature course.
Most students take their DISC 1312 or 1313 course with one or two other HSP courses. The program enhances the quality of, but does not monopolize, your schedule.
