Landon Massey

Assistant Director / Academic Counselor - Women's Basketball/ Football

Massey was named Assistant Director in the Center for the Academic Development for Student-Athletes (ADSA) in summer of 2019. He is responsible for oversight of the tutorial program and will serve as the Summer Bridge coordinator. He is the Academic Counselor for Women’s Basketball and Football.

Massey came to the Hilltop during summer of 2016 as the role of Academic Counselor for the football program and as the Assistant Tutorial Coordinator for the Academic Development of Student-Athletes (ADSA). 

Prior to coming to SMU, Massey held positions as Academic Mentor and Assistant Academic Advisor at the University of Oklahoma. In those roles he worked as an academic mentor predominantly with football, from 2014-2016. Also, from 2015-2016 he served the role as academic advisor for the novice rowing team. He also earned his M Ed. from the University of Oklahoma in Adult and Higher Education with an emphasis in Intercollegiate Athletic Administration in 2016.  
A Texas native from Coppell, Texas, he received his Bachelor of Science degree in communication from Dallas Baptist University in 2014. During his time at Dallas Baptist, he was a member of the track and field and cross-country team. In his spare time Landon enjoys spending time with his wife Delaney, son Broden, dog Nike, and loves being outdoors, hunting, and watching sports.
