The Community Engagement and Leadership Center will be announcing a new process for recruiting SMU volunteers soon! Email us to make sure you're on our distribution list when we release the information in August 2017.
Stampede of Service
For more than 40 years, SMU has partnered with local non-profit organizations and Alumni Relations to host a campus-wide community service day. During Stampede of Service, students, faculty, and staff volunteer at various sites around DFW, while SMU alumni concurrently serve in their communities around the country. For more information, visit the Stampede of Service page.
SMU Service House
The SMU Service House (SMUSH) is a unique residence hall. It serves as the home for up to 28 students who are committed to service and to building a vibrant residence community.
Alternative Break Trips
SMU students organize and send trips across the U.S. and world during every academic break. Visit the Alternative Breaks website to find out more information about how you can participate in one of their trips.
Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service
SMU students, faculty, and staff make the national MLK Holiday a day on instead of a day off. Come and celebrate Dr. King's legacy by turning community issues into citizen action! The MLK Day of Service is part of the University-wide recognition of "Dream Week".
Mustang Heroes sponsors a week of events to promote awareness of social issues and involvement in the community.
