The Advanced Ministerial Studies program
offers a variety of opportunities to enhance skills in
ministry, explore new theological insights, deepen
spirituality, seek new and deeper understanding for the life
of faith, and serve more effectively.
Areas of Opportunity

The Doctor of Ministry degree provides the opportunity
for advanced study that integrates theological reflection
and ministerial practice with a contextual focus for persons
in professional ministry within the church.

The Perkins School of Youth Ministry is a place to build
relationships with other youth ministers, refine your vision
of your ministry and renew your calling from God.

The Perkins Theological School for the Laity offers laity and others
the opportunity to explore issues of spirituality, theology,
religion and church leadership with faculty and leaders from
Perkins. Schools are held on the Perkins SMU campus as well
as in Houston, Amarillo, Arkansas and Anchorage.

Ministers Week includes endowed lectureships and a
variety of worship services, workshops, luncheons, symposia
and informal social events for practicing church
professionals.

UM Certification programs are offered for United
Methodist church professionals in Church Music, Christian
Education and Youth Ministry.
