DEGREE REQUIREMENTS
 for
students entering the program in 2007 or before
Admission to candidacy for both M.A. and Ph.D.
students:
- Core Seminar in the four
broad areas of religious studies--12 semester hours
- 12 semesters hours additional course work
- Four comprehensive examinations in these four
areas
- Examination in a foreign language
M.A. students only:
- Thesis
- Oral examination covering thesis and entire
course of study
Ph.D. students only:
- Examination in one additional foreign language
Biblical Studies students must take exams in Hebrew and Greek as well.
- 3 semesters/36 hours field level course work
- Four field-level comprehensive examinations
- One-semester practice teaching
- Dissertation
- Oral examination over dissertation and entire
course of study
