SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS
The Office of the Dean of Student Life does more than just oversee various extracurricular departments - here is a list of some of the other services and functions that the office provides:
- Coordination of the SMU Crisis Management
Team for situations involving students.
- Maintenance of student conduct records and collection of fine payments
assessed as a result of violations of the SMU Student
Code of Conduct.
NOTE: Students may pay assessed fines for a conduct violation in person by going to Rm 302 Hughes-Trigg Student Center or online at the Online Fine Payments page. See the Student Conduct and Community Standards page and the SMU Student Handbook for related information.
- Coordination of Honor Council and Conduct Board activities.
- Printing of the
SMU
Personal Security Tips
Booklet for distribution each Fall to students. (Acrobat
Reader is required to view.)
- Providing a conduit for Staff Leave
Requests in the various Student Life Departments.
- Small, short-term
emergency student loans.
- Notary services.
