About e-Train Training Descriptions How to Schedule a Training Session? Contact Us
The Office of Risk Management (ORM) is stepping up to provide better means of safety training to the university employees. ORM is dedicating a computer workstation to be used as an electronic training station called e-Train. Various training videos are available in electronic format on this computer. e-Train also has PowerPoint presentations on several topics. This training station is open for all employees on workdays from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Benefits to you:
It does not require all your employees to be taken away from work at the same time.
You can schedule a training session at your convenience.
You can select from a wide range of training topics online.
Your employees get trained at a personal level.
Supervisors can schedule a training session for their employees online or by contacting the Office of Risk Management. When the employee arrive to the Office of Risk Management he/she can fill-in the sign-in sheet and click on the training video or PowerPoint presentation that he/she is supposed to get trained on. Your employee is now trained. We are here to assist the trainee if they have any questions during and/or after the training session.

Accident Causes & Prevention (Video) 16.28 min Short video on training employees in the majority of accident causes - unsafe acts and how to prevent them. Most accidents are caused by unsafe acts, therefore the majority of safety efforts should be in reducing these types of acts.

Back care & the choice is yours (Video) 11.25 min Shows how the back works and why we hurt it. Provides a better understanding of back mechanics and why it is so important to use safe lifting procedures by using the basic principles of leverage.
Confined Space (Video) 10.40 min Gives employees an overview of the hazards of confined space entry, and to instruct and motivate them to follow correct procedures. The video discusses protective equipment and clothing and rescue methods and equipment.
Emergency Management Training (Presentation) Designs the basic structure and function of the Incident Command System that can be used at any size incident. The ICS is nationally recognized as the best emergency management system.
Golf Cart Safety (Presentation) Designed for training employees who operate industrial "golf carts", service carts and other similar electrical carts. Focus is on safe operation, maintenance, batteries, safe driving techniques and other basic safety requirements.
Hot Work Permit (Presentation) Activities that produce sparks such as, welding, grinding, and cutting create potential hazards. Educate your workers on proper procedures and safe work practices to prevent personal injury and property damage.
Hazard Communications: Your Right To Know (Video & Presentation) 19 min Teaches awareness of health and physical hazard, procedures on first aid and spill cleanup procedures, material data safety sheets, and employee’s right to know about workplace chemicals.

Practicing Safe Science (Video) 31.42 min This video is a look into the academic and medical research laboratory. The basic tenet of the video is that the laboratory worker should know the hazards that exist in the lab and be able to assess the associated risks.
Lift Truck Driver Training Kit (Video) 6.25 min Provides a general overview for lift truck training and an example of an ongoing safety-training program.
Safety Orientation in Office Environments (Video) 6.37 min Designed for office workers and focuses on the most common hazards and resulting injuries in an office. Discusses chairs, ladders, office equipment, video display terminals, safe lifting, fire prevention, and more.
Utility Cart Safety (Video) 11 min Video uses re-enacted accidents to demonstrate the importance of following Standard Operating Procedures, obeying rules for riders and when operating around pedestrians and being attentive to speed, turning and parking.
