Dear Graduation Candidate: I invite you to participate in this year's ninety-third annual Commencement Weekend, a time of celebration as the SMU community gathers to honor you. Following are the events that you might wish to place on your calendar: The Baccalaureate Service for undergraduate degree candidates will be on Friday, May 16, at 8:00 p.m. in McFarlin Auditorium. All undergraduate candidates are entitled to three tickets for their guests. These seats will only be held until 7:30 p.m. The service will be simulcast in the Theater of Hughes-Trigg Student Center. The Rotunda Recessional will immediately follow Baccalaureate.
The Commencement Convocation is Saturday, May 17, at 9:30 a.m. in Moody Coliseum. As a graduation candidate, you must have a procession pass to participate in the Saturday morning Commencement Ceremony. Information on obtaining a procession pass can be found on the website listed below. Guests do not need tickets. The Diploma Presentation ceremonies take place Saturday afternoon and evening. These are a few of the special events planned to make this a memorable occasion for you and your family. A complete listing of all the events for graduation weekend can be obtained at http://www.smu.edu/registrar. Commencement Weekend is a most joyous time on our campus. With my many SMU colleagues, I look forward to honoring you and your achievements as a student at SMU. Sincerely, Paul Ludden Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs
