The Outdoor Adventure Center (OAC) is the "base camp" for SMU OA activities. Located on the bottom floor of the Dedman Recreation Center, the OAC is the place to register for trips and workshops, rent outdoor recreation equipment, classroom/meeting space, and general outdoor recreation information resource.

The lobby area remains open with the Dedman Center so you can stop by, take a look at the calendar, view the bulletin board, and read outdoor related magazines. During the specific times of the week, OAC staff will be available.

Planning your own adventure or just needing some quality outdoor time? We can help. SMU Outdoor Adventures offers a variety of camping, backpacking, climbing and water sports equipment for rent to the SMU community (students, faculty, staff or Dedman Center members). We stock quality gear at reasonable rates that will allow you to get outside, get challenged, and get in touch.

In addition to cool gear, a small resource library is available to help you in planning your next outing. Resources range from maps to local, regional, and national guidebooks including videos and “how-to” books. The below FAQ may help answer any questions but if not, feel free to contact us.
