Class of 2016 Perkins Graduates Lauded During Celebration of Degrees and Academic Achievements

Ninety-seven graduates of the Perkins School of Theology Class of 2016 were honored during the Celebration of Degrees and Academic Achievements on Saturday, May 14, 2016. The ceremony, which took place at Highland Park United Methodist Church, also included the awarding of more than 20 honors for academic excellence.

Dean William B. Lawrence, in his final degree-conferral ceremony before retirement, welcomed attendees and provided the invocation and confession before presenting awards and degrees to the graduates. Rev. Dr. Alyce McKenzie, the Le Van Professor of Preaching and Worship at Perkins, read scripture from Mark 10:32-52.

Rev. Dr. Hugo Magallanes, Associate Professor of Christianity and Cultures at Perkins, delivered the sermon entitled "What's Our Quest?"
