Giddy-up is a courtesy ride service to anyone on the SMU campus. During the evening hours, the "Giddy-Up" golf carts will usually provide this service as long as student drivers are on duty. The courtesy ride service is restricted to the SMU main campus only.  Please remember the Giddy-Up is a courtesy service which is staffed solely by student employees of the Police Department. Security Escorts:  This service is provided to anyone on the SMU campus 24 hours a day 7 days a week. It is provided by an SMU Police Officer to individuals who have a legitimate security concern, are injured, or ill. Police officers are not taxi drivers to be summoned for your convenience to get to class on bad weather days or when you just don't feel like walking. 
    SMU Officers will respond to offer the service when they are not working higher priority police related matters. Priority police activity may delay some escort response times.  As long as you are in a safe location, stay there and wait for the Officer to arrive.  The wait may be longer than normal during peak hours.
