Parking Fines
- Parking in a space designated for persons with disabilities - $300.00 plus tow fees and $10.00 per day impound fee.
- Fire lane and fire hydrant violations - $150.00.
- Blocking a driveway - $30.00
- Double parking - $30.00
- Parking in a crosswalk or driveway - $30.00
- Parking in a "NO PARKING" zone - $30.00
- Overtime parking - $25.00
- Parking in an unauthorized area, no permit-incorrect permit, and spaces designated "VISITOR." - $25.00
- Parking on sidewalks or pedestrian walk-ways - $25.00
- Parking on the lawn, flower beds, or pedestrian mall - $25.00
- Failure to display a parking permit properly - $25.00
- Improper use of parking citation (Using an old citation to attempt to fool officers into thinking your vehicle has already been cited for the same offense - $25.00 )
- Students, faculty, or staff parking in any "Pay Meter" space - $25.00
- Parking in a "Reserved" parking space or area - $25.00
- Designation as a habitual violator occurs after six (6) citations have been issued. The designation is automatic as determined by parking records. The fine for habitual violators is $30 per incident. Vehicles parked illegally by habitual violators will be cited and booted. Additional fees may be applied for boot removal. There is also a $10.00 per day impoundment fee for each day the vehicle remains booted. The habitual violator status remains in effect for the remainder of the academic year.
- Designation as a Chronic-habitual violator occurs after ten (10) citations have been issued. Individuals who receive ten (10) citations will be fined at a rate double the amount of the violation penalty (example: $30 fine will be doubled to $60.00 if you have received 10 tickets during the academic year!)
Enforcement
- Citations will be usually affixed to the vehicle windshield in violation.
- The department is not responsible for citations that may be removed by other individuals or that are blown away by wind, rain, etc.
- A sixth traffic citation will result in the designation of the owner/operator as a habitual violator. Habitual violators who park illegally on campus will have their vehicle booted.
- Securing a parking permit using fraudulent registration information or displaying a fictitious permit will result in the automatic suspension of parking privileges and referral to the University Judicial Officer for action action.
