NEW STUDENT PROGRAMS
Incoming Students
The Office of New Student Programs offers a two-step orientation process to help new students make the transition to college life.- Academic Advising, Registration & Orientation (July
2008)
- AARO presents all the information students need about becoming an SMU student before they start their first semester! Students will plan an academic program that reflects their interests and goals, meet their academic adviser, register for classes, and learn about all the resources that SMU has to offer. AARO also provides an opportunity for optional academic testing for course credit and placement and a chance to find out ways to get involved. A returning SMU student will help incoming students in an AARO group figure out how to get the most out of their Mustang experience.
- Mustang Corral (August 21-23, 2008)
- Mustang Corral is the best way to connect with new students to SMU! In addition to meeting their classmates, students will also get to know faculty, staff, and student leaders who will teach them about the spirit and traditions of SMU, as well as academic life. Mustang Corral is a three-day, off-campus retreat for all incoming students.
