SMU awarded nearly 2,000 undergraduate, graduate and professional degrees as
part of its 93rd Commencement.

Dr. Allen Weinstein, the
noted historian who oversees the nation's presidential

The Baccalaureate Sermon was presented on Friday evening by the Rev. Dr. Sheron Patterson, the senior pastor of Highland Hills United Methodist Church in Dallas, a strong advocate for the advancement of women and author of eight books. (Read the text or see a video of her

SMU also conferred honorary degrees upon four men and women for achievements in science, education and philanthropy.
