Life at Work: Interns must dress and behave professionally

You landed that summer internship. Now what do you do?

For many college and high school students, a job in a professional environment is fraught with peril. What do you wear? Who can answer your questions?

John Walker, who'll be a junior at Southern Methodist University, just began a summer internship at PegasusAblon Properties, a Dallas-based commercial real estate developer. His father, Newt Walker, is a Dallas commercial real estate broker.

"My parents did a good job of telling me the importance of presenting yourself well," said John Walker, 21, who wore a suit and tie to a recent industry lunch. "I think it would be a bad idea to show up to a job interview in shorts and a T-shirt."
