Spring 2007  
March 12-17 Spring Break 
March 26-April 13 Summer 2007 and Fall 2007 Continuing Student enrollment for Meadows students.  
April 4 Last day to drop a course. 
April 6 University holiday – Good Friday
April 23 Last day to withdraw from University.
April 27 Last day for oral/written examinations for graduate students who are May degree candidates. 
May 1 Last day of classes – follows Friday class schedule.
May 4-10 Examinations (no examinations scheduled for Sunday) 
May 18 Baccalaureate
May 19 Commencement 
May 28 University holiday – Memorial Day
May Term 2007  
May 11 SMU-in-Taos – May Term arrival and first day of classes.
May 14 SMU-in-Taos – Last day to enroll, add courses and to drop courses without grade record or tuition billing. Permission of Taos Program required for all enrollments. 
May 28 SMU-in-Taos – May Term examinations 
May 29 SMU-in-Taos – May Term departure
Summer Term 2007  The Summer Term consists of three primary sessions: First Session, Second Session and a Combined Session. There also are shorter and longer sessions to accommodate the particular needs of the various instructional units such as SMU-In-Taos. 
   
Combined 10-Week Summer Session  Classes will meet 2 hours and 15 minutes twice a week, or 1 hour and 30 minutes three times a week. 
May 31 First day of Combined Session classes. 
June 5 Last day to enroll, add courses or drop courses without grade record or tuition billing for Combined Session course. Last day to file for August graduation.
June 16 (Saturday) Additional class day for M/W/F and M/W classes.
July 4 University holiday – Independence Day 
July 23 Last day to drop a Combined Session course.
July 27 Last day to withdraw from University.  
July 28 (Saturday) Additional class day for M/W/F, M/W and T/TH classes. 
August 1 Last day of Combined Session instructions and examinations. Official close of the term and date for conferral of degrees.

Offices of the University will be closed September 3, November 22-23, December 24-28, 2007; January 1, January 21, March 21, May 26 and July 4, 2008.

August 22 Opening Convocation – McFarlin Auditorium 
August 23 First day of classes. 
August 29 Last day to file for graduation in December. 
September 3 University holiday – Labor Day 
September 28-30 Family Weekend 
October 29-November 16 Enrollment Spring 2008 Meadows Continuing Students. 
November 5 Last day to drop a course. 
November 9-11 Homecoming 
November 19-20 Fall Break 
November 21 No classes 
November 22-23 University holidays – Thanksgiving 
November 26 Students should file for May graduation. Last day to file is January 28. 
November 27 Last day for oral/written examinations for  December graduate degree candidates.
November 28 Last day to withdraw from University. 
December 3-6 No final examinations or unscheduled tests and papers. 
December 6 Last day of instruction – follows Monday class schedule.

Please note that attendance on Saturdays and Sundays is often necessary for rehearsals, performances, and some classes.

If Artist Certificate students plan to be off-campus anytime between August 23 and May 17 (other than official holidays), they must file a “Request for Professional Absence Form” with the Meadows Office of Graduate Admissions and Records at least four weeks before the absence.
