Temerlin Advertising Institute Ad Named Best in National Contest

The Meadows School of the Arts’ Temerlin Advertising Institute strengthened its position as one of the top advertising programs in the country recently when eight TAI students earned national recognition for their winning entry into a national restaurant chain’s advertising contest.

Students from advertising schools across the country created 30-second commercials for the Chipotle restaurant chain. For their winning entry, entitled “The Wall,” the TAI students – Alexandra Edwards (Advertising), Jordan Mathis (Cinema-TV), Nick McCarthy (CTV), Kyle McCook (ADV), Sarah Nolen (CTV), Jason Shipp (ADV), Sirichai “Tex” Sirisawat (ADV) and Peri Wilson (ADV) – won $10,000, and an additional $10,000 for Temerlin.

The competition had two facets; the Meadows students’ entry was viewed 7.7 million times on YouTube.com, the second-highest total behind an entry submitted by a team from the University of Nebraska.

But it was “The Wall” that the restaurant chain named the best of the 22 entries in the competition.

Chipotle marketing executive director Jim Adams cited the powerful way “The Wall” captured the Chipotle brand, and lauded the ad’s original music and high production value.
