The Meadows Symphony Orchestra is truly international in character. Students from many parts of the United States and many countries around the world travel to Dallas each year to study at the Meadows School of the Arts at SMU. Undergraduate, graduate and artist certificate students study with artist teachers and rehearse and perform at the highest level as soloists, chamber musicians, and, under the direction of Dr. Paul Phillips, the great repertoire of the symphony orchestra. Our home is the acoustically attractive Caruth Auditorium in the Owen Arts Center on the campus of Southern Methodist University. Each year, in addition to its own series of concerts, the orchestra performs with the Meadows Opera Theater. We also perform annually at the Meyerson Symphony Center, home of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra. The Meadows Symphony Orchestra has earned wide critical acclaim, and has recorded several compact discs for commercial release.
