Dance Performance Minor
The minor in dance is available to majors in all disciplines, and is designed for students with previous dance training who wish to continue the pursuit of their interests within the context of their liberal arts studies. Acceptance criteria for the dance minor include audition and class placement prior to enrollment in studio classes. Students also selectively engage in the study of the creative process/performance, dance history/literature, and/or theory/analysis.

Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance Performance
The B.F.A. in Dance Performance is a 123-credit-hour course of study program requiring four academic years for completion. The B.F.A. program provides a comprehensive sequence of technique classes in ballet, modern and jazz, and courses in choreography, dance history, stage production, repertory, Labanotation, kinesiology and music analysis, as well as related courses in theatre and art.

Master of Fine Arts in Dance
The M.F.A. in Dance and Practice is a 60-credit-hour program which requires two academic years for completion, including a three-week summer workshop. The M.F.A. program focuses on the development of the dance artist/scholar.
Components of the program include studio-centered courses that examine and analyze all aspects of dance composition, from the development of original choreography and the analysis of masterworks of choreography to the practice of teaching skills as a dance director. To complement the practical components of the program, critical and analytical courses have been developed to include dance history and criticism, Labanotation, kinesiology and teaching methodology. Students are encouraged to explore interdisciplinary study in the Meadows School Divisions of Music, Theatre, Art and Art History. A final performance project, including a project notebook, completes the course of study.
