Art

Degree Programs: Within both the undergraduate and graduate programs in the Division of Art, the studio and its activity is the center of artistic engagement. It is where students work, and where they think. Through an open atmosphere of intense critical exchange with faculty and colleagues, students of artistic promise can explore their creative force and imaginative abilities. They are afforded opportunities to observe and to analyze, to look at their physical environment and read its structure, to take it apart and envision other ways that it can go together. Students enjoy an environment in which to experiment, risk and imagine, to find the tools to make new worlds. They are continually exposed to a range of positions within art, whether through the faculty, visiting critics and artists, or their peers.
