MayTerm Tuition and Payment Due Date
For MayTerm 2014, regular undergraduate students will pay a reduced tuition rate of only $1,154 per credit hour, the same rate offered last year during the SMU Summer School program in 2013. The total cost for one MayTerm course is $3,462 and no other fees will be assessed with the exception of travel costs and special fees for the course being offered in New York City (ADV 5301).
For other SMU students (certain graduate students, those enrolled in the evening bachelor’s degree program, etc.), MayTerm tuition will typically be calculated at the current rate being charged by the specific program in which they are enrolled.
Tuition is due no later than Friday, May 2 after which time a late fee of $150 will be assessed. If delinquent payment/late fees are not paid in full by the first day of class, students may be automatically withdrawn from the MayTerm program.
SMU Merit Scholarships/Financial Aid for MayTerm
Students considering enrollment in a MayTerm course should contact their Financial Aid Advisor. Most SMU Merit Scholarships (such as the President's Scholars, Hunt Scholars, Provost or Rotunda scholarships, etc.) are available in pro-rated amounts for 3-credit-hour courses during MayTerm.
Those receiving SMU Need-Based Grant or Opportunity Awards may be eligible for grant funding of $450 for a 3-credit-hour course; however Federal and State funds are not available for MayTerm unless you are also attending another SMU summer term.
Financial aid assistance is available for MayTerm if you ALSO attend Summer 1 or 2 and/or the June or August Terms in Taos. In order to receive financial aid, a student must be enrolled in at least SIX (6) hours over the course of the entire summer. Please contact your Financial Aid Advisor for more information.
Students receiving SMU Tuition Benefits are not eligible for additional scholarship funding for MayTerm; please contact SMU Human Resources regarding your MayTerm tuition benefits.

MayTerm Refund Policies
Students must provide written notification of their drop/withdrawal to firstname.lastname@example.org by the following dates. Once we receive your official written notification, we will complete a withdrawal/cancellation form on your behalf and submit to Enrollment Services/Bursar for processing. Due to the intensive nature of MayTerm, NO refunds will be issued after Thursday, May 15, 2014.

MayTerm Drop / Withdrawal Deadlines
