  High Performance Computing and Applications


    The International Conference on High Performance Computing and Applications 2004 (HPCA 2004) will be held in Shanghai, a beautiful, active, and modern city in China, August 8--10, 2004. It will serve as a forum to present current work by researchers and software developers from around the world as well as to highlight activities in the high performance computing area. It aims to bring together research scientists, application pioneers, and software developers to discuss problems and solutions and to identify new issues in this area. The conference will emphasize both design and analysis of high performance computing algorithms, tools, platforms, and their scientific, engineering, medical and industrial applications.
 
    Shanghai University is one of the key institutions of higher learning in Shanghai directly under the Municipal Government and on the list of national "Project 211" in China. The president of the University is Professor WeiChang Chien, a famous scientist in China, a Vice-chairman of the People's Political Consultative Bureau of China and an Academician of Chinese academy of Science. Shanghai University is a comprehensive university with rich diversity of disciplines; it consists of 22 colleges and schools, offering 56 undergraduate programs, 64 master programs, 7 professional programs for degree of engineering, 16 doctoral programs and 6 post-doctoral programs covering Dynamic, Metallurgy, Electronic & Communication, Mathematics, Materials Science and Information Engineering.
