SMU graduate JIM DENT will discuss his new book, Twelve Mighty Orphans (New York: St. Martin’s Press, 2007), which tells the story of the powerhouse teams of the Fort Worth Masonic Home, which dominated high school football in Texas in the 1930’s and 1940’s. Co-sponsored by the DeGolyer Library.

Join the Friends as we travel to Austin and College Station to tour the Texas Presidential Libraries. Itinerary will include tours of the LBJ Library and Museum, the George Bush Presidential Library and Museum and the UT libraries in addition to several other area attractions.

Fred Wendorf, Henderson-Morrison Professor of Prehistory Emeritus, Southern Methodist University, discusses his latest book and life as a field archeologist. This event is co-sponsored with the SMU Press, DeGolyer Library and the William P. Clements Center for Southwest Studies.
