An award-winning critic for WFAA-TV, Gary Cogill is a three-time Katie Award winner and has worked at the Channel 8 news department for more than 16 years. He is a consistent contributor to Good Morning, Texas and Texas Cable News. He has been interviewing actors, writers, and directors since the mid-1980s and is a nationally recognized film critic. He is also a nationally recognized radio personality. In 1997, he co-hosted the syndicated morning show Daybreak USA that was heard in more than 200 markets in the US and Canada. In the 1980s he was heard daily on USA Overnight. He spent two years hosting his own live call-in show on 570 KLIF Talk Radio in Dallas. On Wednesday nights, his Story Time provided bedtime stories for kids. Cogill's film column appeared for two years in The Fort Worth Press, and he was a feature writer for Best Choice video magazine. He also does voice-over work. A devoted trout fisherman, jogger, and cook, his love for life and film is surpassed only by his love for his two daughters.
