If you are looking for an exciting new career path, consider teaching. The SMU School of Education & Human Development's 15-month program will prepare you for a successful classroom career with all the credentials necessary to teach Early Childhood - Grade 4 (EC-4), Middle School, or High School. On top of it all, you will earn a Master's Degree in Education.

  You will expand your knowledge in a specific teaching discipline such as English, mathematics, history, and the sciences, while the core courses will broaden your understanding of the psychological, social, and cultural contexts of education. Electives will provide the flexibility to begin specialization in gifted education, reading, mathematics, bilingual education, or ESL.
