Ready for Credit?
SMU students with majors and minors in Dedman College may be eligible to earn up to 3 hours of internship credit toward their degree
- students usually earn internship credit during any semester of the junior or senior year
- read the course description for your major to see if you are eligible
- internships are independent study courses - they do not include class time
- regular tuition costs apply to internship courses - speak with Ms. Renfro regarding College solutions when summer tuition is prohibitive
- internship courses are unpaid entry-level professional experiences - supervised by faculty, department and program
- students average 120 hours of internship work for a 3 credit course
- students are responsible for initiating internship course planning
