Dental Plan
Aetna administers SMU’s Freedom of Choice Dental plan. Freedom of Choice gives you the opportunity to choose either a Dental PPO or a DMO (Dental Maintenance Organization - similar to medical HMO). You may switch between plans during the plan year but your monthly premium will remain the same throughout the year. The DMO provides a higher level of coverage but you must select a participating dentist.

Did You Know?
MetLife has a Participating Dentist Program – or PDP – that will save you money. Participating dentists have agreed to charge lower fees for their services, so you pay less when you receive care from them. These discounts can save you anywhere from 10% to 35% of average dental charges in your area.
