Accepting/Declining a meeting request

When you are invited to a meeting, you will receive a message in your inbox. If you choose to accept the invitation, Outlook will automatically enter the appointment in your calendar and email a confirmation to the meeting organizer. If you choose to decline the meeting request, an email will be sent to the meeting organizer indicating that you will not be able to attend. If you are unsure of your availability for the proposed time, you may select Tentative. This will enter an appointment in your calendar and email a confirmation to the meeting organizer. You can then accept or decline the invitation at a later date.

  1. Double click on the Meeting invitation in your Inbox

  2. Click Accept, Tentative, or Decline.
