Configuring Internet Explorer
In order to use Webmail, certain security settings must be enabled.

Launch Internet Explorer
-
Click Tools
-
Click Internet Options
-
Click the Security tab
-
Click Custom Level
-
Locate the section on Scripting
-
Enable Active Scripting
-
Enable Allow paste operation via script
-
Enable Scripting of Java applets
-
Click OK
-
Click the Privacy tab
-
Set the privacy level to Medium to enable cookies
-
Click OK
Attention Windows XP Service Pack 2
You will also need to permit pop ups on the Webmail site in order to use Webmail. This applies to all machines running Windows XP SP2 as well as those machines that have installed a separate pop up utitility
- Launch Internet Explorer
- Click Tools
- Click Pop Up Blocker
- Click Pop Up Blocker Settings
- Type webmail.smu.edu in the address field
- Click Add
- Click OK
