Prentice G. Creel has over 26 years experience working in the petroleum industry, currently serving as a Technical Engineering Advisor addressing Cementing and Conformance Technologies for Halliburton - Permian Basin Business Development Group and Technical Team.

Assignments with Halliburton have been serving in various operational and technical engineering positions addressing cementing operations, downhole tools and testing, stimulation procedures, conformance control techniques, and in the development of computer analysis and software for simulation analysis. He has worked with other design engineers with Halliburton Service's mechanical, chemical, stimulation, cementing, and water and sand control departments, designing pumping equipment, mixing apparatuses, monitoring systems, developing chemical uses and formulations for various systems used today by Halliburton.

Current assignments are to design and implement treatments and processes to enhance well performance for economical considerations, problem solutions, and enhanced recovery. Assist in developments of technology transfer for improved reservoir and geological descriptions, well performance problem identification, and solution methods using enhanced placement techniques for conformance control and cementing. Mr. Creel addresses reservoir management projects globally focusing on remediations and conformance through a multi-discipline synergy team.

He has contributed to the development of Halliburton’s XERO Computer program addressing in a fuzzy logic expert analysis method to assist in problem identification, solution methods, treatment recommendations, and placement methods for Conformance Control problems. He is part of a team assigned to help developments in Reservoir Simulation modeling and techniques addressing water and WAG flooded reservoirs [Halliburton’s QuikLook Simulator].

Prentice has served in various positions over the last 25 years for the Society of Petroleum Engineers and is presently Director for the Southwestern North America Region, served as a Director of the Trans-Pecos SPE Section

Mr. Creel holds nine patents on processes and technologies utilized in the industry under Halliburton. He has written several SPE papers, journal articles, and research papers. He has contributed to and written several other papers, journal publications, and technology and support presentations for the PTTC, SPE, AADE, IADC,PPDC, and TORP.

He received BS Degrees in Engineering from New Mexico State University at Las Cruces, New Mexico (1970, 71).  He conducted advanced studies in Microbiology, Colorado State University (1977 ─ 1978).
