Educational Excellence
Of 500 full-time faculty members
at SMU, 86.4 percent hold the doctorate or highest degree in their
fields.
In addition to respected educators in biology, geology and chemistry,
the SMU faculty includes national figures in such specialties as
biology of aging, nuclear test-ban verification technology, finance,
high-energy physics, medical ethics, moral theology, international
law, anthropology and many others.

Degree
Emphasis
After students in the Environmental
Science Program at Southern Methodist University have completed their core courses, they select
a biology, earth science, or
chemistry emphasis for upper division study.
All students will come together their senior year in a multidisciplinary
seminar in Environmental Science.
Biology, earth science and chemistry concentrations include these courses. Click here
for more information on these courses and their content.
