Core classes in the SMU Environmental Science Program include 11
credit hours in geological sciences. Upper-level students can choose
additional instruction in hydrogeology, geochemistry, modern and
ancient climates, and other courses in Earth Sciences.

The Environmental Science Program at
Southern Methodist University includes a set of core courses that provide students with
the necessary background in chemistry, earth science, physics, biology and mathematics to
move into a biology, earth science, or a chemistry emphasis in their
upper division courses.
