Admission

The Dyslexia Teaching Level Certificate Program is open to individuals who hold a Bachelor’s or higher degree in an education-related field from an accredited university or college and hold teaching credentials from a State Education Agency or accredited private school. To be considered for admission, applicants must be employed in a public or accredited private school. The employing school district will submit the student Recommendation Form, indicating that it will support the teacher’s efforts to complete course requirements (e.g., attend courses and provide practicum opportunities) and videotape demonstration lessons. The DTL student will submit the Participant Information Form.

New students are admitted to the program each summer.  The annual deadline to submit applications for admission is July 1.
We are currently accepting applications for summer 2008. 

Late applications will be considered.  Please email learning@smu.edu to notify our office if you plan to submit your application after the deadline. Applications should be mailed to 5236 Tennyson Parkway, 4-108, Plano, TX 75024.
