SMU School of Education and Human Development

GO FROM STUDENT TO TEACHER IN A SINGLE BOUND.

Classroom sceneWith most majors, you can use your electives to complete SMU's Teacher Education program and become a certified teacher ready to launch a fulfilling career. Even if you're not sure of the career path you will take, teaching credentials can provide a solid career alternative because teachers are needed all the time, everywhere.

If you're graduating this semester, you might prefer the Master of Education with Certification program, which allows you to complete the teacher certification requirements as part of a Master's degree.

Want to learn more?
Come to an Information Session where you can learn about both the undergraduate teacher certification program as well as the Master of Education with Certification degree. Some of our current students will be on hand to share their experiences, and advisers will be available to explain program requirements.
