
Paul Geisel holds a Ph.D. in Sociology from Vanderbilt University. He
was a professor of Urban Affairs, City and Regional Planning and Urban Sociology
at UTA for over 30 years.
His previous experience in research and teaching included positions at SMU,
Tuskegee, University of Pittsburgh, Rollins College and Arizona State. He
was a Research Project Director of the Canadian Welfare Council. Dr.
Geisel was also the first Executive Director of the Dallas Alliance.
Dr. Geisel has completed over 200 grants which cover a broad spectrum of
topics from
demographic trends, land use, city management, social issues, and future trends.
While with the
Dallas Alliance, he was instrumental in designing the desegregation plan for the
DISD and
Neighborhood Organization throughout the city. He is widely published with
over 191 articles,
reports, monographs and books.
