Bill Detwiler has been an educator/administrator, Associate Vice President-Human Resources and Business Services at Southern Methodist University since 1983. He is adjunct faculty in Dispute Resolution at SMU and the University of Texas at Dallas. He received is Doctorate in Public Administration/Labor Relations at the University of Georgia. Dr. Detwiler is a permanent arbitrator for the U.S. Postal Workers Union, and labor mediator appointment with N.W. Louisiana Southwestern Bell & Communications Workers of America and many others.

Dr. Detwiler has taught Arbitration and Advanced Arbitration for the SMU Dispute Resolution Graduate Certificate Program.
