Dr. Coakley received his Master's of Clinical Psychology at North Texas State and his Ph.D. in Educational Psychology at Texas Woman's University in 1983. He is a Professional Psychologist who minored at TWU in Family Therapy. He is currently a member of the American Psychological Association, The Texas Psychological Association as well as the Dallas Psychological Association. He belongs to both the Texas and the Dallas Bar Associations Family Law Division. He works extensively in group, marital and family psychotherapy in grief counseling, and sexual abuse counseling in both the public and private sectors. His current focus is performing psychological evaluations on adults and children for public schools, police departments, county mental health agencies, and juvenile and family courts. Dr. Coakley has taught either full time or as an adjunct faculty member at Brookhaven College; Mountain View College; TWU; and El Centro College and has been affiliated with several local hospitals.
