What is the Diversity Education Program?
DEP
is an initiative implemented in the Fall of 2000. It consists of
students who want to improve cultural awareness and respect for
diversity on the Southern Methodist University campus. The organization
is the student component of a University-wide Diversity Education
Program and is housed in the DMSA in the Hughes Trigg Student Center,
Rm. 323. The DEP staff is made up of facilitators. Facilitators
present a variety of workshops through retreats and upon request from
faculty, students, student organizations and staff.
What does DEP do for SMU?
Our society is ever
changing. In order to prepare our students as leaders, DEP provides a
variety of presentations and workshops to educate SMU students about inclusive leadership, cultural awareness, and
appreciation of diversity.
