Dedman College Majors

premba & precorporate studies

Preparing for an MBA (Masters in Business degree) doesnÕt mean you need to major in Business as an undergraduate. In fact, a solid liberal arts background coupled with some finance-oriented business courses makes you very well-rounded and marketable.

Choose the major that best fits your own interests – English, economics, public policy, anthropology – you name it. Then add a good mix of courses that might serve you well for a career in business … such as philosophy (reasoning abilities are essential), international studies (multicultural knowledge is ever more important), and calculus (number skills are key). Throw in an internship in your area of interest or a semester abroad to expand your horizons. Your adviser can help you decide on a personalized, effective preMBA plan.
